Baseball
Apr. 5 at Arizona Christian (DH): Game 1 Win, 10-7
The Master's University baseball team took game one of four against Arizona Christian University in Glendale, Ariz., thanks to an offensive explosion. Four Mustangs had multiple hit performances, highlighted by home runs from Ty Beck and Austin Young. For a full recap, visit this link.
Game 2 Loss, 19-4
ACU flipped the script in game two, putting up 15 runs in the sixth inning to tie the series at one game apiece. Ty Beck hit his second home run in as many games to knot things up in the fifth, but the pitching collapse in the sixth thwarted all hope of a TMU victory. For a full recap, visit this link.
Apr. 6 at Arizona Christian (DH): Game 1 Loss, 9-7
TMU dropped game three to the Firestorm by a score of 9-7 in Glendale, Ariz. The Mustangs were able to keep things close thanks to two more home runs off the bats of Austin Young and Ty Beck, but ultimately it was not enough for the Stangs to capture a win. For a full recap, visit this link.
Game 2 Win, 18-1
TMU secured a series split in dominating fashion in game four against ACU. The Mustang hitters put up 18 runs on 16 hits, launching five big flies in the process. On the mound, Carson Ohl had another terrific outing, going the distance and giving up just one run across four hits while striking out 11. For a full recap, visit this link.
Men’s Volleyball
Apr. 5 vs. Benedictine Mesa: Win, 3-2
The Master’s University Men’s Volleyball took down Benedictine Mesa in five sets at The MacArthur Center. It was just the second time all season that the Mustangs have been to a fifth set. Apr. 6 vs. Park Gilbert University: Win, 3-0
The Mustangs put up a stellar performance on Senior Day, taking down Park Gilbert University in three sets at The MacArthur Center. As a group, the Mustangs hit .597 with 42 kills on 63 attempts. Beach Volleyball
Apr. 5 at Hope International: Win, 3-2
The Sandy Stangs won a thriller for their final match of the season, beating Hope International 3-2 in Huntington Beach, Calif. The 1s pairing of Annika Gudnason and Evi Roberts broke the 2-2 tie, winning the last match of the day in three sets. The 2s pairing of Faith Yada and Zoe Yates and the 3s pairing of Violet Avila and Grace Colburn accounted for the other two wins in the match. For a full recap, visit this link.
Men’s and Women’s Track and Field
Stanford Invitational Results:
The Master’s University Men’s and Women’s track and field teams competed against NCAA Division I talent and held their own at the Stanford Invitational. Hunter Roy finished second in the men’s 800m finals. Hannah Fredericks finished fourth in the women’s 10000m, and Caleb Pouliot also finished fourth in the men’s pole vault final.
