Second edition of 'Think Biblically' released

Apr 15 - Andie Valdes

On April 8, the second edition of “Think Biblically: Recovering a Christian Worldview,” was published, and is now available for purchase.

In 2009, the first edition of the book — a series of essays on varying topics about thinking biblically and with discernment in today’s culture — was released by The Master’s College faculty.

Now 22 years later, there are six new essays from The Master’s University's very own beloved faculty, including: science and origins by Dr. Matthew McLain, complementarianism by Dr. Shelbi Cullen, mental illness by Drs. Ernie Baker and Greg Gifford, hermeneutics by Dr. Abner Chou, mathematics by Dr. Tai-Danae Bradley, and Christian liberal arts by Dr. Chou.

Dr. Chou, an editor and writer on the book, says the goal is ultimately to highlight the truth of God’s word as the culture has shifted farther from truth.

“What’s happened in our society is that confusion has escalated as clarity about the truth has eroded, and it has raised questions that we never even asked back in the day,” he says. “We have degraded our understanding of so many issues to such a basic level that recapturing them is necessary, and that’s what this book does.”

Rodrigo Contreras, a 2024 graduate from TMU, already has the new edition. “I’m only on the first chapter, and it's also very easy to read,” he says. “But the book really reflects what Master’s is all about – the authority of Scripture in every field. I think it shows that the Bible is enough for every aspect of life.”
