Men’s Basketball

Feb. 5 vs. Park University Gilbert: Win, 95-69

Freshman Quincy Phillips poured in a career-high 37 points as he led the Mustangs to a 26-point victory over Park University Gilbert at the MacArthur Center. Kaleb Lowery added 19 points, and the team shot 46 percent from three on the night.  For a full recap, visit this link.  

Feb. 8 vs. Benedictine Mesa: Win, 72-60

The Master's University held off a late rally from Benedictine Mesa at the MacArthur Center to win their ninth conference game of the season. Kaleb Lowery, Kendall Moore, and Caden Starr all scored in double-figures, accounting for 52 of the 72 points scored by TMU. For a full recap, visit this link.

Women’s Basketball

Feb. 5 vs. Park University Gilbert: Win, 99-89

The Mustangs bounced back from a rough first half, putting up 67 points in the second half to beat Park University Gilbert at the MacArthur Center.  It was a team effort, as all but two Stangs finished with less than 15 minutes of game action. For a full recap, visit this link.

Feb. 8 vs Benedictine Mesa: Win, 70-58

The Master’s University relied on a 28-point fourth quarter to earn a double-digit victory against Benedictine Mesa at the MacArthur Center. The Mustang defense also played a huge role in the fourth quarter, holding Benedictine to just 11 points. For a full recap, visit this link.

Men’s Baseball

Feb. 5 vs. Cedarville University: Win, 9-5

The Mustang bullpen gave up only one run over six innings of relief work in their victory against Cedarville at Lou Herwaldt Stadium. Tommy Gwinn led the charge on offense with three RBIs and three runs scored, while Isaiah Morales added three RBIs of his own.  For a full recap, visit this link.

2/7 vs. Westcliff (DH): Game 1 Loss, 9-1

Westcliff handled TMU in Game 1, allowing just one run on six hits at Lou Herwaldt Stadium. Ethan Schmidt was the lone bright spot for the Mustangs, giving up just one run over two innings of work.

Game 2: Win, 7-3

The Mustangs got the win in Game 2 with the help of one big inning and a quality start from left-handed pitcher James Coker. Coker gave up only two earned runs over six innings of work.  The Mustang offense also erupted for six runs in the sixth inning to give them the lead for good. Feb. 8 vs. Oregon Tech: Win, 9-7

The Master’s Baseball won a back-and-forth showdown with Oregon Tech thanks to an offensive explosion at Lou Herwaldt Stadium. The team as a whole blasted four home runs on the day. Ty Beck was a key contributor offensively, smashing a pair of home runs and driving in six runs. For a full recap, visit this link.

Men’s Volleyball

Feb. 6 at Vanguard: Win, 3-1

TMU Men’s volleyball held Vanguard to just a .188 hitting percentage during their victory in Costa Mesa, Calif. Braden Van Groningen led the Mustangs with 20 kills on a .417 hitting percentage. For a full recap, visit this link.

Men’s and Women’s Track and Field (Indoor)

Feb. 8 at Sunshine Open

The Master’s University men’s and women’s indoor track teams had an impressive showing in Santa Barbara, Calif. Both the men’s and women’s teams hit qualifying times in multiple events, and Hunter Roy broke two school records in the 600m and 800m. For a full recap, visit this link.
